OCT East Shenzhen….

I was sent on a worktrip to the OCT Interlaken Hotel in Shenzhen. I was a bit worried at first because Shenzhen is freaking ghetto…. like anything goes there. But thankfully, the hotel was in the OCT–Overseas Chinese Town– East part of Shenzhen, which is an isolated piece of land on top of a mountain being developed as a tourist attraction.
The hotel is based on the town of Interlaken, Switzerland. So it’s got that whole Switzerland village feel….only right next to the hotel is a traditional Chinese tea garden. So you literally go from Switzerland village to traditional Chinese village in like 20 steps. Hilarious.
But the place was nice.
Oh and best part? The buffet has all you can eat roast duck, bbq pork and roast pork…. hahahaha.
Also, be sure to check out “The Tea Show” at the tea village. Yeah, I know the show sounds boring, that’s what I thought too. But somehow they manage to turn a show about tea into a show with aerial stunts involving pirates, the 18 bronze monks of Shaolin, and pots–yeah, pots.
